About me

My journey into medicine started at a young age. I’ve always felt a calling to become a physician, but within the medical system I saw people becoming sicker and sicker, taking pills to mask side effects from other pills, and I knew there had to be another way. For a while I felt lost - wanting to answer my calling as a healer, but not within the realm of the western medical system. When I was eventually introduced to Naturopathic medicine, I immediately knew I had found my calling.

After graduating from Simon Fraser University, I enrolled in the Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine Program at Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine in Vancouver, BC. In my third year, I went through what is now called topical steroid withdrawal (TSW). From what we know, TSW is a harsh inflammatory rebound reaction affecting the entire skin surface in response to the discontinuation of topical steroids. This process lasted the duration of the year and while it was probably one of the most difficult things I have experienced, it inspired me to learn what I could about the condition in hope of supporting those going through it, as well as raising awareness and hopefully preventing this from happening to more people. I love all aspects of medicine and have a well rounded foundation in most conditions, but have a special interest in skin conditions, environmental medicine, allergies, and detoxification.

My personal and professional philosophy stem from a value of connection and balance. I believe that the human body and mind function optimally when we cultivate a strong relationship to ourselves, to others, and to our planet.

Outside of work, you can find me hiking up mountains, or on my yoga mat. I love to travel, learn new things, cook, and eat good food. A sense of community is important to me, and I love getting to know my neighbours and community members.

My approach

My role is to integrate all the practical stuff - the labs, the medicine, the history, with your essence, your energy, and who you are right now. Combined, I craft individualized and intentional treatment plans to help build a resilient you.

My approach to healing:

  • Reset and optimize foundational pathways: sleep, stress, hormones, diet, water.

  • Support weakened systems

  • Treat the underlying cause of disease

  • Restore the connection between mind and body

  • Create a foundation for sustainable change.

A unique perspective

Things I take into consideration

Environmental inputs

The air you breathe and the water you drink, the quality and type of foods you eat, where you live and work, your level of physical exercise, you community engagement and relationships, and toxic exposures or traumas you have experienced all affect your health.

Mind-body elements

Psychological, spiritual, and social factors all can have a profound influence on your health and are often forgotten in todays medicine

Genetic makeup

Although individual genes may make you more susceptible to some diseases, your DNA is not an unchanging blueprint for your life. Epigenetics shows that your genes may be influenced by everything in your environment, as well as your experiences, attitudes, and beliefs. That means it is possible to change the way genes are activated and expressed.

All of these processes are influenced by both environmental factors and your DNA. By understanding a little bit about both, we can create a customized health plan that literally aligns with your DNA.

  • Structural integrity

  • Inflammatory responses

  • Immune system function

  • Energy Production

  • Detoxification

  • Psychological and spiritual equilibrium

  • Regulation of hormones and neurotransmitters

  • Digestion and absorption of nutrients

  • Gut Health

Through my education, training, and experiences, I have developed a unique set of skills to help people achieve more balance, feel more magic in their lives, cultivate more connection, and to feel more comfortable in their own skin.

Growth.

I am committed to my own personal growth, healing, learning and development. I understand that each person has their own unique story, and I strive to meet you where you're at. My own story has provided its own challenges, and I have come to appreciate them as some of my greatest periods of growth. This allows me to see each patient through an authentic, compassionate lens. I strive to evolve continuously, in my professional and personal life.

I find my value when I stand as a positive energy in the lives of others. My goals as a doctor are to:

  • Create a foundation for healing and growth

  • Foster an environment for personal empowerment

  • Support health and wellness in the bodies, minds, and spirits of my patients.

Medicine requires authenticity, support, and honesty, and I uphold these in every one of my patient encounters. Healing also requires collaboration, and it is up to you to uphold your part as well. I want my patients to be partners in their own healing. I want them to understand how powerful their minds and bodies really are, and how to create a foundation for long lasting health.
